If you have some bandwidth to burn and some Internet cap to spare, may we kindly direct your attention to some uplifting and amusing (and Academy Award-winning!) entertainment.
The five delightful and utterly brilliant films that all competed to win this year’s Oscar for the Best Animated Short Film (one of our all-time favourite categories) have been made available online where you can watch it for free! (Update: Seems that we are now down to four. One film has, for some unknown reason, since been made unavailable.) You can even watch the short that strutted away with the big prize, Logorama.
Logorama, the brain child and labour of love of French directors François Alaux and Herve de Crecy of H5, is a colourful, action-packed, seventeen minute long ditty, complete with a thrilling car chase. It is set in Los Angeles, but this version of La La Land cleverly contains and stars the logos of more than 2 000 companies and brands.
So make sure to catch Logorama and the remainder of the nominees over here. But before you call the kids to watch it with you, take note that, although the animation is colourful and whimsical, the language in Logorama is plenty colourful too, making it inappropriate for younger viewers.
Enjoy, skatties!
